DEEPFOCUS PRODUCTIONS

 

Deepfocus is a production company that specializes in creative documentaries. We are dedicated to producing documentaires d'auteur with a strong personal signature. We only produce films that we believe nobody else could make at this moment in time. We like to engage with young filmmakers to help them achieve their "impossible dreams".

 

Since our establishment in 1992, our approach has resulted in numerous striking and award-winning documentaries by filmmakers such as Jos de Putter (nine worldwide awarded documentaries), Jiska Rickels (Babaji; a love story, awarded at Visions du Réel, 2009), Neske Beks (Eigen Volk / My own people), and Reber Dosky (Radio Kobanî, awarded best film Dutch Competition Idfa 2016, best film CPH Dox 2017, best documentary at Ismailia Filmfestival 2017, jury award Madrid 2017). Deepfocus has also produced video installations by renowned Dutch director Clara van Gool and Jos de Putter.

 

As a co-producer, we have been involved in projects such as 'N' by Peter Krüger, which premiered at the Berlinale 2014, and 'Wim' by Lut Vandekeybus.

 

Deepfocus was run by Wink de Putter as producer (left) and Jos de Putter as creative producer (right) from 1992 to 2016, and has been run by Jos de Putter since 2017.
